Both the PPO and Premier plans have participating providers who will not charge more than Delta Dental's allowed amount. This means they do not balance bill - the difference between what we pay and the dentist's fee. This can help you save on out-of-pocket costs. If you see providers outside of the network, you may pay more for care.

Services except for nitrous oxide and sedation are preventive services, therefore would not apply to the member's annual benefit maximum. Nitrous oxide and sedation would fall under the applicable benefit level.
When it comes to oral health, we know some people need more care than others. Delta Dental of Oregon's Health through Oral Wellness program offers extra benefits to members who have a greater risk for oral diseases.
The program uses an oral health assessment to find out your risk of tooth decay, gum disease and oral cancer. Based on your risk score, you may qualify for additional cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants and periodontal maintenance.*

The preferred provider option (PPO) gives you access to one of the largest PPO dental networks in Oregon and across the country. Members will enjoy better benefits by seeing dentists in the PPO network. These providers have agreed to lower contracted rates, which means more savings for you. As a reminder, to receive in-network benefits if you select a Delta Dental PPO plan you must see a Delta Dental PPO provider or Specialist.
